First question, it has been said that you do not do much programming any more, due to using your time in other ways. Do you ever miss the times when you would program for hours at a time?

Nope.You know what Microsoft wants: take over the rest of the markets(Linux,Mac,BSD and misc. subpercent OSes like QNX and Beos(which is quite remarkable for its time)), and the easiest way is to lock their hardware. Secure boot will be the first step.
Now you will have to buy 'specialized hardware' for Linux, like LISP machines.
Some niche market for hobbyists and tinkerers. 99% of the planet will run locked windows PCs and tablets.
