crypto community

Just had a fun idea.

It's like a little web community online, but every message you post comes with a "cryptcode" so that people know it was you that posted it.

Also maybe other fun things to do with cryptography. Any ideas? Does such a thing already exist?

Post user IDs? Of course. Even Shiichan used to have those IDs (check old posts). They're usually an option in the config file for most text board software.

You may be surprised but 4chan has post signing with DES and SHA1(called tripcodes).

This proposal is just like filtering non-tripcode users(99%),but much slower using client-side script to decode every encoded post(inefficient) and the pool of such users is much smaller than tripcodes.
The argument "only expert programmers can decrypt posts", if you can install a userscript you don't need to know how it works, only one such userscript and your scheme is open to everyone.

The problem with GJS was that noone used it, and the people who
did sign their posts usually got the signatures by copy pasting
someone else's signature.

I don't think more than 20 posts on [code]/prog/[code] were signed with the
GJS protocol.

Don't change these.
