where is the best place to work?

Name: Anonymous 2011-10-06 0:23

lets say you have the choice of working anywhere at any company in the world. who do you work for? giant engineering companies like boeing or raytheon? small startups with like 5,10,20 or 30 people? big software giants like amazon, microsoft and google? private research labs? consulting/freelancing? enterprise software shops?

the criteria for a good workplace are:
interesting problems
modern technology stack
cool people

my personal dream is to work for a small space company like armadillo, but none of them are even hiring :( . my next choice is a porn site because maybe id get to touch some boobs for the first time

Good idea, didn't think about that. That's what I'll do. One of those Russian ``amateur'' scam sites are surely willing to hire one more person to do the scamming with dem tits.

i'd say it's probably better to work in a company that has more than 12 employees and has some structure. you don't want to work in a company that does not focus on IT and lacks things such as a bug tracker, version control, formalized development method, decent QA, etc...

Why would anyone let you touch or even meet the pornstars?
Do you really think that Brazzers is unprofessional?

I can confirm this. I used to work at a small IT company that had a development department consisting of five regular employees, and a huge sales department. Needless to say, the code was horrible, unstructured, hard to understand, and with lots of little bugs everywhere. Next time, I will definitively jump ship immediately if a company does not have a well-defined software architecture.

TDD is sort of free QA.

Also, it makes meeting with clients more productive
