I started off wanting to be a 3D Model artist, but when I did programming at College I loved it and haven't turned back since. I'm currently at Uni studying computer games programming and I'm getting a job in London soon.
Maybe Academia (as the more specific branch that I'm interested in is not listed), although this is meant that I would be interested in contributing to some specific projects that personally interest me, not just being a code monkey for a professor (it would be work toward actually achieving a goal, or completing some software system, not merely making some toy programs so that the professor could write his paper and dump the project - instead it would be pursuing an idea fully to its completion, not just making a demo prototype - such projects tend to be either a mix between academia and commercial or open-source groups).
