Why is there a /comp/, a /tech/, a /prog/, and a /g/? I can understand redundancy, but this is too much!

Name: Anonymous 2011-10-01 20:22

think about it some more

/g/ is where you go if you want to see imageboard spam.
/tech/ is where you go if you want to see traditional spam, trying to sell you shit.
/prog/ is where you go if you want to see real questions getting drowned out by autistic troll shitspam.
/comp/ is where you go if you want to SEE SOME REAL WINNERS!

please don't reply to troll threads

I just spent like, twenty minutes on /prog/ wondering why the fuck there were so many advertisements and revenge threads and shit. Then I realized I was on /tech/. True story.

Here. Some of you may have noticed my comment on /comp/ was lackluster compared to the rest of my post. So I'm branching out to you, my fans, to answer this question:
What should I say about /comp/?
I want to make this the best post it can be, a statement on the variety of technology-related boards on 4chan. But frankly I've never gone to /comp/ and don't know what I can say about it to make this post funny and insightful. As you can see in the rough draft, I had to resort to some generic "meaningless phrase emphasized with bbcode."

Please, /prog/, I want to make the best post I possibly can.

Sincerely,
>>3

/g/ is where you go if you want epic funny Internet maymays and a good approximation of /b/.
/tech/ and /comp/ are drowning in spam so they're not relevant.
/prog/ is where ``faggots'' discuss about social issues with some programming related memes on the side.

The old 4chan X support thread was there, but MVB saw it and decided that it was ruining his spam operation and deleted it.

Then the Dev left and removed world4ch support.

Being relevant to modern /prog/-goers isn't the exactly the point of the post, though. The intention is to comment upon the OP's idea of the existence of the three boards being redundant, and as such, to make a unique comment on each.

Negroes.

Sincerely,
