Why is there a /comp/, a /tech/, a /prog/, and a /g/? I can understand redundancy, but this is too much!

/g/ is where you go if you want to see imageboard spam.
/tech/ is where you go if you want to see traditional spam, trying to sell you shit.
/prog/ is where you go if you want to see real questions getting drowned out by autistic troll shitspam.
/comp/ is where you go if you want to SEE SOME REAL WINNERS!
