People should not need to be paid to work...
The work should in itself equate it's reward...

Needing to pay people to work means that the goal of the work is not reward enough... Eg. the work is meaningless to the workers, they would not even think about it if not for the 'carrot' you dangle in front of them...

You grow a fruit tree and you get fruit..
Grow your own tree though
