Linux hipsters talking shit for using Ubuntu
``...can't configured Debian, hurr durr.''
Remind them that Linus Torvalds uses Fedora.
Watch them change the subject real fucking quick.

Yes, Torvalds is using one of the few non-derivative Linux distros. More importantly, he isn't using something that pulls from Debian unstable, which any Debian user will tell you is a bad idea.

Because everyone wants to use Debian stable's three year old packages.

testing is stable enough, though currency is a pain point with Debian. Besides, the old, reliable packages in stable or testing are better than the old, your-system-might-not-even-boot-today packages in unstable.

The point is that neckbeards tend to snub users of high-level, commercial-grade, "user-friendly" distros while the inventor and maintainer of the kernel uses one himself. If you read Linus's newsgroup postings, you'll see that he's often very frustrated when stuff doesn't work out of the box.

M'eh. I don't really care about that. If such people do exist they deserve to feel uncomfortable about it.

The only stuff Linux does out of the box are segfaults.

Are you perhaps one of those Ubanto users and come here to vent your frustration?

Stop turning /prog/ into /g/. At the very least, keep it in /comp/.

90% of the threads on /g/ consist of ``x is the best [OS/browser/video card]''

90% of the threads on /prog/ consist of ``x is the best programming language''

This thread, by comparison, is one of the less /g/-like.

It's the most /g/ like, just go back there, please.

Being that programming is a game of logic, and logic being an attribute that you don't possess, perhaps it would be best if you go back to /g/.

my mom is /g/
my dog is /g/
my balls are /g/

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta

No, programming is a game of dicks.

Don't change these.
