Next version of Visual C++ is shit

It's official and it's shit:

It's like almost the same as MSVC++ 2010. At this rate, it will take until 2020 to get full C++11 conformance from them. Meanwhile, even GCC at it's laggard pace is way ahead.

Microsoft still has no decent C compiler

Condescending smirks and baseball bats aside, I seriously hope you guys don't do this. C++ is not a strict superset of C, so a C++ compiler is not always suitable for C.

Well, C conformance wasn't really my point. I mean, if they call their product a C++ compiler, and can't even get C++ conformance for a new version of the language standard done very quickly, do you honestly think they're going to care about C99 or C1x conformance? This is Microsoft we're talking about.

What's ironic about not getting C++11 conformance quickly, however, is that they've been hyping it up in the press, at their conferences, and what not about a C++ rennaissance and about improvements to their native development tools. And they have a bunch of people on the ISO C++ committee itself, such as Herb Sutter who was chairman of the committee for a time. And they still can't show a decent effort to implement the new language features.

All I see is red NO everywhere. Well, everywhere that matters, actually. Fuck you, Microsoft.

Oh, wait, nevermind. I haven't written a single program in Sepples for years. Long years.

Don't change these.
