artificial intelligence for beginners

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-01 13:51

Hey /prog/, I don't know how you deal with out kind round here but I'm a beginner at programming. I know some python, but even I can tell that it's a programming language for babies.

What would you recommend me to learn? I don't think I'm one of those "lol i make games" type of amateur programmers (although it would be cool to learn c++ eventually), right now I'm looking for a language that's good for artificial intelligence.

Java and clojure. Java has TONS of scientific and AI libraries. And clojure is still a baby, but is powerful enough to express complicated programs on a readable way.

I've used C# for any sort of artificial intelligence/machine learning toy/application I've made. Really, any language in which complex data structures are easy to represent and implement. C++ wouldn't be so bad if you don't care about having to manage your own memory.

Don't change these.
