sry kinda new to this need help.

i jus downloaded vis studio 10, last yr i took a class on python didnt do well on account of teacher wasnt a programming teacher.  i want to self teach myself c++ and im used to the python one window then create, due to its built in compiler. studio has a huge list of project templates to use, which do i use to simply write and compile simple code for beginners?

OK this is totally related to the subject: where can I find a textbook describing music theory bottom-up? It should start with the absolute basics, because I don't even really understand what is a chord.
