let me try this in bb code:
I use [size=+2][font=verdana]verdana[/font][/size] and [size=+2][font=georgia]georgia[/font]value[/size] in windows

Do you always use giant Verdana and giant Georgia, or do you also use normally-sized Verdana and Georgia?

Name: Anonymous 2011-07-30 20:06

>>15
the default size is usually 10 in an editor, but Verdana and Georgia allow me to go down to 8 which shows a lot more code in the window but is still very readable

My favorite monospaced fonts are Consolas, and Liberation Mono.
It's 2011 why are you people still using unaliased fonts?

Because bitmap fonts look better at small sizes (i.e. 8pt, 10pt), and seeing more than three lines of code in a window at any given time is usually a big advantage in coding.

Liberation Mono
My nigga.

Consolas doesn't look too good on Linux, but I heard it's a favorite among Macfags, which is ironic since it's an MS font, but makes sense because Apple's  monospace fonts render like shit at small sizes.

Do you use font antialiasing and/or hinting?

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-30 1:32

Sure, they're good, but are they Abelson good?

Only in Xubuntu. On Mac and other Linux distros I stick with pixelated.

Which is odd because their default mono font1 is my go-to font on any desktop system.
