voice control. C++

I know I can import the MS voice recognition into C++ and make it easier, but I'm simply looking at making a custom program that will run in the background that can turn off my screen, put my computer into sleep be able to come out of sleep, play music/playlist or specific songs from windows media player all by voice.

One thing at a time would be fine, but how long do you all think it would take to make this?

To build it from scratch? A very long time. If you just use the voice recognition libraries on whatever platform you're on (even iPhone has voice recognition libraries), then you can do it in like an hour.
