Why did Notch write Minecraft with Java? Why didn't he write it with a superior language like C or Python, with for example, SDL?

You can say this about virtually every indie game I've tried. It has a goal setting up a little base so you can be safe and shit. After that it gets boring; you will have seen every piece of content in < 1 week. Everyone hopes the author will add some content some day.
