Lisp supports functional programming, but isn't purely functional. It lets you write all the imperative code that you'd wish (despite functional style tending to be much more maintainable - I write my C in functional style for that reason) and CL has CLOS and MOP which are much more powerful than most Object Oriented languages (not to mention that you can define any OO system in MOP).
