BitCoin Ponzi Scheme

Name: Anonymous 2011-06-05 22:24

Hey /prog/. Want to make more BitCoins in the long haul? Get in early on a ponzi scheme. In another year, at the current growth rate, there will be nearly 20,000 new subscribers. With only a one BitCoin investment can turn into hundreds of BTC. More if you refer people.

Get in quick, the US government is putting forth legislation to try to shut down the "BitCoin website" and the "Silk Road" website. Which just goes to show how clueless the politicians in government really are, seeing as how BitCoin isn't centralized, and Silk Road is a hidden service. Once the criminal organizations who have been sitting on the fence see that BitCoin w/ Tor is unstoppable, much more so than torrents and copyright piracy, they'll start buying up and using BTC, infusing billions of dollars into the BTC economy.

Yeah, I heard about the two senators wanting to stop it. I don't think they know what they're getting into either. I wonder what governments will do when they realize they can't stop it without turning off the entire Internet?

stop casually mentioning the site that rhymes with ``milk node''

people like you are the reason why it's getting attention from the government... because you talk about it too much

It's too late. But they don't realize you can't take down a Tor Hidden service. They think it's just some website somewhere.

You use it like you would for any other currency: it is a medium of exchange for goods and services. Like any currency, the person selling the goods/service must first agree to accept bitcoins as a medium of exchange.

Even if TOR has a backdoor, after the first exploitation it will be patched. So it is one shot and not a long term solution for government.

And even if they did suddenly get 20 times the membership, a non-spammer's average return would be an amazing 3.4 bitchcoins.  And if the creators, say, reserved the first 100 slots for themselves, they've already made 333[1] btc (≈ $6200) for nothing.

Silk Road is the perfect place for autists to get their opiates. No longer is there a need to go outside and talk to scary people. Now you too can buy opiates from the comfort of your own home.

Actually mining is still feasible if you know how to design a good pcb. No HDL and shit but I won't tell you.

Don't change these.
