Perl > Python > Ruby > Php

It's for server side scipting btw.

Here my take so far.

I kind of hate Ruby because I image it to be a bit too resource intensive.

Everybody curses Perl's syntax but so far I kind of like it actually.

Everybody praises the easiness of Python but I don't find it more readable than Perl.

Php is less versatile than Perl and Python so I figure it will be less useful for future projects.

Ruby is to be hated because it provides way too many different ways to do the same thing, and so people develop their own styles and idioms. No two Ruby programmers would be able to read and easily understand each other's code. The fact that Ruby is slow, only recently got full Unicode character support, and attracts retarded hipsters are just bonuses as to why it should be hated.

Python is to be praised for providing usually at most a single well-defined way to solve a particular problem or implement some functionality. This is where the term ``pythonic'' comes from.

Perl is somewhere in between, with extra ugly syntax, broken ad-hoc libraries, and a standard development process at creating the next revision of the language that is slower than the one for C++0x.

Because humans like images. Look at the first alphabets. It's a fact, people recognize images better. You recognise a logo before you read a brand name.
