The spam has gotten so bad, especially point b. I'm considering leaving /prog/ for a while if things don't calm down or someone codes a decent greasemonkey filter script (similar to the ones made for the imageboards which let you hide threads or hide posts by regexp(s) for various fields). Sadly I don't care enough to write one myself.

Agreed, we need a greasemonkey script to automatically filter out any post with the word fart in it, including common variants such as a f a r t, f.a.r.t, f-ar.t, etc.
I have a feeling that the ``fart'' guy is the same guy that tried to force ``opiates'' as a meme. The only difference is that ``fart'' is actually disgusting and unsettling.

It required annoying manually editing the script for each spam pattern. I wish there was a dynamic one which allowed you to specify the patterns at runtime.
