GCC works for everything I care about. Last time I tried Clang, it didn't work for everything. It may now be time I tried it again.

You should probably adjust the volume of your compiler if it's impossible to hear anything over it. Long term exposure to loud sounds will quite quickly deteriorate your hearing.
