Haskell or Scheme? For practical use, for learning functional programming, etc. And any guides on how the fuck to use Emacs?

All functional programming languages are toy languages. No exceptions.

Emacs was created for a world that doesn't exist anymore. You should be using a modern IDE such as MS Visual Studio or Eclipse.

Visual Studio. Mfw. Functional programming languages are toys. Mfw people use them for everything. Mfw functional languages are far superior when it comes to concurrency, which will be the next big thing in the computing world. Mfw you know none of this. Mfw I'll be rich enough to buy you. And treat you like /a toy./

What if you write in a functional language using Visual Studio?

C#, btw. In case you are too stupid to sense the burn

Um, you're retarded. People write in C# on Visual Studio. You're a stupid troll. Shut the fuck up

Just having higher order functions does not make a programming language ,,functional''

Oh you're right. Having closures, blocks, continuations, pattern matching, anonymous functions, and parametric polymorphism, along with extension methods (*coughtypeclassescough*) make a language relatively functional. But hey. Its not like C# has any of those

Oh and lambdas

Have you ever used any of that? If you even try to use it, the code becomes more ugly than your moms shitty ass and more obfuscated that top winners from Obfuscated C competition.

Functional techniques in C# are dysfunctional.
