Moses glanced through the manuscript. He then took from his desk a hedge trimmer and cut it in half. Sussman took the remains and went away, shamefaced.
Several seasons later, Sussman came before Moses again, and spake thusly: "Master, I have condensed the teachings into twenty hours of lecture. Through it those who are wholly ignorant of the nature of things might grow in understanding, as an child eating curd." Thereupon he performed for Moses the twenty hours of lecture in one sitting. Having at last grown silent, Moses responded: "The lectures are like the curd of white cow of Snow Mountain, the text is like its milk. A child may not be able to digest the milk, but it can digest the curd. I will give you charge over the initiates."
