Why /Prog/?

Name: Anonymous 2011-04-02 0:31

I was planning on asking this question, and then I was even more motivated when I saw all this /prog/ is dead shit.

I'm a CS major, and work with a lot of fairly talented people. I come here, and there are many talented, however in addition there are many brilliant people.

Why don't you guys write your own forum? I hate the text boards, they are shitty and not very functional. You guys could write an amazing forum, take care of spam easily, and do it all with such elegance. I learned some webdev stuff back in highschool, and even back then I was writing forums and such much better than this.

Why don't you autistic fucks orchestrate this. I've been wanting a community outside of my CS department, something where there could be projects.

DO IT!

We lovehatelohatevehate Shitchan.
Also, there are sereval problems, like:
- Which language? As /prog/riders, we would choose Scheme or Haskell, but
- Host it, where? As /prog/riders, we don't really want to spill money for an even shittier board than /prog/.
- How to bring the /prog/riders to the new /prog/? And most important...
- Who should take responsability? Someone MUST break his anonimity to be reachable for moderation. /prog/ is different
from other programming forums because of the anonimity. Christopher made /sicp/ years ago, and Xarn is known to be
  half-assedly working on a programming-only board/forum/whatever.

Other than that, of course, mailto:noko IHBT.
