Lisp is good for DSLs in the real world. That's about it. But you shouldn't be putting ANY emphasis one which programming language you use--this is a sign of amateurs. Once you learn a couple of languages functional and imperative languages, it should take zero effort to move to a different language and programming environment. For example, I recently taught myself Haskell in weekend.
Languages don't matter so much, the underlying theory is more important.
That said, the future of AGI software frameworks is a synthesis of C++ and OpenCL. Google OpenCog and OpenCV, not a drop of lisp or any other functional language to be found.
