Help faking the date of a webpage

Name: Anonymous 2011-03-02 21:51

I want to make a website that not only looks old (around y2000) but I also want to make sure that  the somewhat experienced user would believe it's from that time.

Other than "the looks", what else should I look for?
Until now, I've got this:

*I've build the site on HTML 3.1 alone. Site is simple, so no flashy extra features.
*I DONT use PNG format since it was under development at the time.
*I'm hosting the site on an unkown Hindu company (maybe I should host it at home?)

Anything else I'm missing?
I know you guys at /prog/ know a trick or two.

Don't forget animated gifs!!!!!!

Example, near the email link put an animated mailbox

Also,  blinking text!

Sure. But setting visuals aside, how do I get past date tests like this?
Is it enough by just modifying the webpage document date or do I need to manipulate the hosting server date or info?
