Hawking is the modern day fraud like Einstein. A continuation of the same con job. It is the same as art today. The game is duping people into throwing grant money and book fees at you, just as the "artists" con millions out of idiots for piles of shit and rubble (somtimes literally). Artists have happily admitted that they were seeing what they could get away with and what crap they could sell for giggles. People nod along, imagining they are sophisticated and clever for knowing this...and then pay more money for more rubbish. I don't blame the artist, of course. Some people are begging and deserve to be robbed, especially when you reveal the true game and they still throw money at you.
If you look carefully at the glowing endorsement Hawking gets on that heavily edited propaganda outlet Wikipedia, you'll see his background (like Einstein) is a bit "odd." In fact, his "magic powers" seem to fail when he is in an objective setting. It's only during his "oral examinations" that his listeners are seduced by his Svengali-like powers. Given a simple written examination, he failed miserably. Reminds me of the best con men, salesmen, snake oil pushers or voodoo mediums. They all have something in common with the likes of Einy and Hawking.

On those few points where his "theories" were clearly defined enough to put to the physical test, once again he was revealed as a sophist and a complete poseur. He's a physics crank, no better or worse than those guys who tour Holiday Inn Convention centers showing off their "perpetual motion" machines (YouTube and Google have endless numbers of these along with anti-gravity, water powered cars or magic generators that put out more energy than they take in). Hawking just went global and pulled in a much bigger haul with his scam. The multi-million con rather than suckering in a few investors for thousands each.

I honestly believe most real geniuses are hiding in the fringes nowadays.
We've got immigrants getting million pound or dollar educations here and elsewhere in the world to teach them how to operate a doorknob or condom with white kids who get great degrees and perfect scores on their exams living out of bins or their parents' place. How can this be anything other than wrong and a total mess? Our society is a train wreck. Off the rails. A disaster.
