The state of /prog/

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-25 12:03

I was an active poster here in the pre-SICP period an in the early days of SICP. I just remembered that /prog/ might still exist and came to visit. The situation is worse than I imagined.

I know, I used to complain about them back then. It's probably just a generational thing.

I think bumbing ancient good threads was one of the best inventions ever, but very few people agreed.

That's why I stopped bumping them too.

Yes, "GRUNNUR" arrived1 around a year and half later than the seminal SICP post2. I still consider 2008 early in terms of SICP's presence in /prog/.

2 http://dis.4chan.org/read/prog/1174926405/35

Fun fact: both of those posts were by me, although I didn't have anything to do with the popularization of those `memes'.

Then why is your post full of last year's tuna?

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-27 19:52

Grunner I came here in with a sincere tone and tried to have reasonable discourse. It didnt work and i'm convinced all of 4chan is the asshole of the internet. any effort is better served at another chan site. sorry you had to see it like this.

The situation is worse than I imagined.
If /prog/'s state was immutable, it wouldn't become worse. Mutable state considered harmful.
