Flash/ActionScript?

I don't want to be an EXPERT PROGRAMMER, I just wanna make 2-dimensional games... for fun, not for a living or something. I'm majoring in something completely unrelated.

Would learning ActionScript and using Flash be a better choice than learning a fully-fledged programming language?

I read the first couple chapters of SICP and it was enough to turn me off from it. I don't think I'm cut out for ``real'' programming.

Wut. ActionScript is as full-fledged as anything.

It's written for engineers, not real programmers.
