Do you think there's going to be a /prog/?

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 3:10

Wow, this is big news indeed. Except not.

My five cents are on this project failing grandiosely, though.

We should do a chan coded in perl6, y'know, just for the fuck of it.

We should implement some sort of Facebook connectivity to keep things more social.

Perhaps Audrey Tang already has.

We should implement online drinking games to get funnier "HAX MY ANUS" threads

Serious ideas
* Integrated C compiler to show working shit. (sorta like tryruby.org). It should be able to traverse a program like a debugger.
* The same for Lisp and some other languages too.
* Like/Dont like buttons. This will only show text smaller, not hide posts. Shit is part of /prog/ you know. Only it should be smaller.
* Call vote for deleting/sink threads.
* NO IMAGES!

* NO IMAGES!
That's not very Web 2.0.

Serious ideas
* Call with current post continuation, only for the Lisp/Scheme compiler.

Seriously, perl6 is not such a bad idea. Not for the language itself, but because or the ParrotVM. You can "code" yo'ur favorite language in parrot (PIR and PASM), so yo'ure idea (point 1 and 2) is not so far-fetched.

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 8:31

>>7
The ````in Lisp'' guy'' will use its own DSL?

>>10
First we would need a compiler that targets to PIR/PASM for the `x' language.

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 9:19

>>10
If you want to target a VM, why not CLR? Parrot is not exactly mature nor appropriate for static languages. Non-Perl 6 langs on Parrot have mostly all died out, meanwhile CLR has a host of languages and even a Perl 6 implementation.

>>11
targets to PIR/PASM
nqp is designed for that. The new one is apparently hot shit and avoids the problem areas in Parrot. My comments above notwithstanding, targeting Parrot via nqp is not terribly difficult. The situation is somewhat better than targeting CLR via CIL.

Please, sage your posts properly. It must be written `s', `a', `g', `e'. It is case sensitive and doesn't allow spaces, tabulations and other characters before, between and after those letters.

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 16:19

>>17
Actually SPACE SAGEING is an excellent way to bump while not disturbing the sage prevalence.

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 16:22

>>18
you can't sage in space, there's no air

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 16:40

It's much more disturbing than a normal bump.

Why?

Name: Anonymous 2011-02-01 17:10

in space, no one can hear you sage

There should be a /prog/ on canv.as for trading Piet programs.

Name: VIPPER 2011-02-01 17:51

Moot better be going back to sucking dicks for money. The shitty imageboards are already flowing over with that imageboard vermin and polluting our beautiful world4ch and other insignificant places.
Moot better be working to contain this disease.

Also he cant keep even this place in shape.
Moot cannot even handle this place and far he is quite from handling autistic kindergartners.

Also this: >>6

Something is wrong with my brain today.

What the fuck are you talking about?

I'm with >>25, VIPPER is not important for /prog/'s ecosystem, it's just harmful.
