What language to learn?

Hello /prog/.

I'm not an EXPERT PROGRAMMER like many of you, but I'm looking into picking it up. So far, I've discovered that there are functional and imperative languages.

Should I start with a functional language (Haskell?) or an imperative language (Python, possibly?)?
