The cracker type is the last person to submit his key willingly, he'd rather use them to explore the building more thoroughly and find an underground tunnel open to everyone.

Not true, the PS3 was never compromised in any meaningful way to Sony(ie that allowed piracy) through OtherOS.

AFAIK, Linux on PS3 was just a usermode program. To "crack" PS3 one has to get root access to whatever OS it has above, but loading pirated game ISOs would still require pretty complicated framework.
