are there other ways than making blacklists and checking browser headers to block proxy users to access a website?

Put up a site notice explaining that you'd really appreciate it if everyone stopped using proxies there. That way the users can chip in and save you the trouble!

Add a checkbox with a note saying check this if you are using a proxy.

Incomplete precondition. Otherwise just turn off your server and *BAAM!* all proxy users blocked (along with all other users).
