Tripcodes

Name: Anonymous 2010-12-03 1:58

Does anyone have any resources/wiki/whatever that have the algorithm for generating and decoding tripcodes? I bought a 580 and I'm going to be working on a multi-threaded implementation of TripCUDA (and one that is in English).

Har har. I've already been googling for the past week and a half. Haven't come up with anything useful.

You could just not post, faggot.

Wow, it's... it's really simple. Also, any {text|image}board software will have it.

My spidey senses indicate that Wikipedia will have an article on this.

You don't ``generate'' or ``decode'' tripcodes; you merely search, and log ones which match substrings listed in your target file. It's a trial-and-error process, not any sort of decryption or something.

Also, TripCUDA doesn't exist yet, and the 1-man project is put on hold indefinitely (or that's what I last heard, anyway). You should've purchased an ATI card for MTY, it works wonderfully.

>generating and decoding tripcodes?

I'm pretty sure tripcodes are just DES hashes.  I'm pretty sure that jack the ripper has some of the fastest implementations, though I don't know how useful they'd be on CUDA.

So making tripcodes aren't generating them? Well, IHBT.

Would you please stop helping them?

You don't ``make'' or ``generate'' tripcodes. ``Searching and logging'' would be the correct way of phrasing it.

``Sageing'' would be the correct way of posting it.

So the tripcodes I search through are not generated dynamically?

So if I download say, MTY and use that to search for tripcodes, will I not generate a single hash, just ``search and log'' through the entire keyspace?

Does that mean that MTY has compressed several PB (key + trip) of data into just a couple of MB?

Apparently you don't understand how MTY works.

Hey, thanks for responding. Forgot I made this thread. What I meant by "TripCUDA" is referred to as  CUDA SHA1 Tripper. The reason is because I'm trying to learn CUDA and write a correct implementation. I've been on Hurrchan and their IRC for the past several weeks.

They are. I've been doing some digging and found that the crypt function is just Unix DES crypt(3) C header. I found the source code for it online. Haven't gone through it yet to see if there's any Unix specific system calls.

I call it lowerTRIPPER because of the low value of the character height and Ruby's speed.

How does it work then?

I'm still waiting for you to tell me how you can search for tripcodes without dynamically generating them.

Oh, so then again, MTY will have to ship several PB of data if they are to give you the whole DES key- + hash-space which (if you check the file size) is not what they do.
