I'm too old to be a fucking hipster nor do I care to try.

I've been using loonix since the mid 90's (started out on Slack) and I have Ubuntu installed on my laptop because Shit Just Works(tm). The LTS versions don't require me to dick around with my system every 6 months as the mainline Ubuntu and Fedora do. We also use the LTS server on production at work for the web stack, also because it works and doesn't require fucking with.

everyone else productively uses their operating system of choice.  the RHEL/CentOS/SL users are pretty quiet too.

Dissing Ubuntu is trolling. I do find it amusing that there is finally a Linux usable and useful enough for your parents (well, at least mine) to use and now ass-pie nerds still aren't happy. C'est la vie!
