crypt

Name: OP !Y/3coOkie2 2010-11-10 7:12

Programming some simple shit in C; compiling gives:
undefined reference to `crypt'

Adding -lcrypt via terminal solves it, but I want to find the real problem here, so that I can make it compile normally in Eclipse as well. Any ideas? I have the lib and all, so it's not too trivial.

tl;dr crypt isn't properly recognized or something, what do?

I'm asking for legit help and that's all you can say? Damned if this board has really turned to such shit. And yes, I will fucking noko because I'm used to it.

Thats hardcoded ld shit, either use a different library or linker.

Tell Eclipse to link with crypt in some sort of project properties?

What?

use different library or linker
I might end up doing so, but the fact that I can't get something in the C99 standard lib to work is kinda pissing me off. Any Eclipse users know how to bypass the default build commands to include all necessary opts?

Yeah I'm trying to do so, but the build prefs aren't as user-friendly as they are with Java and others...

Yes, I've had this exact problem before. My solution was to stop using Eclipse.

Name: Anonymous 2010-11-10 7:36

crypt is not part of C99.

>>11
Perhaps; then I will indeed have to sort this out in some other manner.

Thanks for the halp /prog/, I have to tend to other stuff now, so peace.

I know we're having a full stop shortage right now, but dissecting two ellipses and making them into three misshapen, mutilated, ellipsis-wanabes is never a good idea.

That's why op needs to GTFO. You don't want to turn this nice, neat and friendly place into /b/, right?

I don't hate you like I hate all the /b/ rejects that come here. You just need to drop that stupid name and tripcode and I might even like you. Good job at not being a fucking faggot as I would expect of most /b/ filth.
