I bet most of you will vote for the Republicans based on the fact that programmers are in touch with reality and are reasonable thinkers who don't get overrun with emotions and other fantasy bullshit like liberals do.

I wonder if americans are aware how stupid they make themselves look when they talk about politics. America has a 2 party systems so voting is nothing more then flipping what I call an idiot switch that goes left or right. Compare that to many western european nations with populations of only a few million people that have hundreds of political parties. So right now the american party is doing well (despite wailing and moaning about a recession), so americans are flipping the switch to the right, are you impressed by their political acumen? The honest truth is that most americans are completely ignorant about the entire political system. Ignorance is a word that gets thrown around as an insult, but I really mean the dictionary definition of the word, only an educated minority understands how departments of government function, who is in charge of the departments and what specific actions those departments have recently done. If you dont believe be, ask an american, quiz them on political or economic topics in relation to what you know about your country. Listen and be amazed when you ask them about the political activity of their nation they brag about their immense switch flipping ability of choosing ability in choosing a president and congressman/senators.

I'm actually considering taking a job doing PHP development. That's how bad they've managed to fuck up the economy. Hopefully now that a bunch of them got voted out things will get headed back in the right direction.
