Yes, reading music is difficult because unlike code it has nothing in common with the English you've spent the first part of your life learning to read.

Sight-reading music is only difficult because an arbitrary, archaic, unnecessarily complex notation is used.
If you use a music app with "piano roll" notation, sight reading music becomes trivial.
