Why COBOL is still the best language for...

... huge ammount of transactions????

I've always wondered. In my company, COBOL programmers tend to have higher salaries (they are older, too), But the thing is, technically, ¿why is superior to other technologies?

PS: I hate COBOL. Anyone sane does.

Look at the DATA DIVISION of any non-trivial COBOL program and tell me that's fucking human-readable to non-programmers.
