So, /prog/, I'm using Mono to develop a Windows program.

Why in God's name is textBox.text = "Whatever."; not acceptable?

I mean, it's not that it's not just a language problem, they apparently felt that relating the property to its object is wrong.

The only goddamn part of a text box that should matter, and I have to get a goddamn subway map to find out how to access it.

There's the problem. Use SWF instead of GTK. It looks nicer, it's easier to use, and it's included in both Mono and the Microsoft framework.
