Do /prague/ residents like Python?
I think it's a good starting language for those who are starting to learn how to program.

Less of this

Would it kill you to have a decent conversation?

Actually, it probably would kill me to have this conversation for the millionth time. For fucks sake, we have 5 years worth of archives, go look at what was said last time

Seriously, when did all programming conversation degenerate into "What does Ug think of shiny rock?" "Me no likey shiny rock, me stick with wood and fire"

Not quite. It's missing [b]Xarn[b] bitching about something, people bitching about Xarn, hotaru, Haskell one-liners, terrible! C code, some imageboard cretin barging in with his ``culture'' and asking newbie questions, and people HELPING HIM!.

And Schemeworld, unscientific and ultimately destructive, my dog Haskell, et al.

I don't.

And I don't think it's good for starting. People are getting used to this high level stuff, and then the only difference for them between an array and a hashtable is that an array is indexed by integers. They end up knowing shit about programming, yet putting stuff together from the included batteries. Not to mention the most retarded community in the whole programming world, feeling as if they were the ultimate programmers using the oh-so-awesome language and everyone using something different is retarded because Python is oh-so-awesome. This makes Python becoming the PHP of the 21st century.

Are you aware that there may have been improvements made to the language over those 5 years?

I've never actually seen that on /prog/. Maybe it would be a better place if he did it more.

>>13
This would be a valid point if the last time we had this discussion was before the release of Python 3. In fact, we've had at least four of them this month alone.

To tell the truth, I deliberately skipped proofreading my BBCode in hopes of that happening.

Really? He no longer posts under his tripcode, but you should be able to identify his posts if you've read one or two articles on his blòg.

He only ever used his tripcode when people were talking to him directly. You don't know your /prog/ lore.
