Beginner looking for help.

I picked up a book in my dad's garage today and started looking through it. Made me want to learn C++(I took it in HS for a sem..but back then I was distracted). What are some good programs that would allow me to write/test code?(I can't remember what program we used in HS for the life of me. It was made by Microsoft though)

Thanks for the help

If you know a bunch of other programming languages, yeah, learn C++. You may want to learn C first though. Even though C++ is very different, C teaches you a lot of low-level stuff you need, like pointers.

If you don't know anything about programming, for the love of FSM, don't learn C++. Learn something else, like Python. Get a beginner's Python book or just read SICP.
