I dont think anyone who hates PHP does web programming for a living. What is the percentage of web programming done in PHP vs Python, Ruby or any other web programming language? I can understand why purists dont like PHP, it sort of has syntax from C, Perl and Java thrown together in a way that doesnt look pretty. But its the only game in town for web programming.
