Well, occasionally my C++ compiler accepts something that I didn't think that it would, and a handful of times, that little nuance turns out to be useful. In those preciously rare moments, yes, it does feel slightly magical. Happened tonight.

Have you ever read your SICP properly? Obviously not, because then you would know that we conjure the spirits of the computer with our spells. The programs we use to conjure processes are like a sorcerer's spells.
