how does I write a Operating System? I am pretty good at VB and I know how to write a virus with batch files. I read SCIP but I didn't really get it but I think I can still write an OS better than Linix

I remember seeing "Operating Systems" written in Quick Basic. (Actually just simple windowed GUIs with a couple of built-in applications. I guess people just inferred "Windows is an OS" -> "An OS is a graphical application launcher")
