Best Java books ...

Name: anon 2010-07-10 1:26

So, /prog/,

I have significant experience with C, C++, and Python, and am now delving into Java. What books would you reccomend for learning it? I usually like the O'Reilly books for programming topics, but if you have a different opinion, please post it.

If you had significant experience with any language you'd have learnt not to ask stupid questions by now.

I disprove of this thread but will bump it anyway because I want all my anonymous friends to know that I (anonymously) don't read books because books are for people who read.

Just read the JAVA doc SUN itself (or is it ORACLE now?!) provides.

I know most people will turn you downs saying it's hard to comprehend but that's just a bunch of bullcrap.

It's easy to follow and it won't enter in unnecessary complications.

Only thing missing is some OOp paradigms that might come in handy.
