I just found out that my dad was taught by Sussman when he went to MIT! He has the lecture notes from the SICP class there!

Aww, shit. I've gone and gotten /prog/ all excited over nothing. My dad took the course ~30 years ago, and apparently threw away all of his notes from that course.
He even calls him Jerry Sussman, his nickname.

They quoted it because it was a good review.
http://mmp.mit.edu/ , for example, spells it Gerry. So do most other sources.

http://www.google.be/search?q=%22Jerry+Sussman%22 4,220 results
Note also that most of the results of the first search are actually him, whereas most of the second are other people.

Alright, you convinced me. I knew I was wrong the instant I saw it on Wikipedia; I just am persistent in the worst ways.
