I don't know what the fuck you're opening prog.db with, but it doesn't appear to be sqlite3. I'd say that's your problem.

SQLite version 3.6.23.1
Enter ".help" for instructions
Enter SQL statements terminated with a ";"

If you really want help, maybe you should describe what you're doing, because you're clearly doing something wrong. prog.db is a binary database file, it doesn't contain SQL statements.

Ok I load up sql.exe . prog.db is in the same directory as the sql.exe so I type " .read prog.db" then I get the syntax error.

Name: Anonymous 2010-06-17 9:17

then I get this error

"Error: near line 1: near "SQLite": syntax error
Error: near line 4161: near "*": syntax error"

.exe
Why am I not surprised?
Maybe you should try the documentation.

Though .help will also tell you why .read is the wrong command, yes.

No shit. As >>14 said, that tells you why .read doesn't work. Now read the rest of >>14 and look at the man page or whatever equivalent your toy OS has to see how you actually invoke the fucking thing.
