People have been trying for years to develop a new C -- there's C++, Objective-C, C#, Java, D -- but lemme tell you one thing. You'll never, ever be able to develop a new Scheme. EVER.
New Scheme, old Scheme; neither is more than an academic curiosity and are of scarce import to a busy world that actually has work to do and bills to pay.
