Name: Anonymous 2010-06-09 2:20

I used youtube and screenshot tutorials with VTC.

I used online tutorials and taught myself, then went to school just for the credentials even though I knew everything already. I also taught myself mapping in half life with online tutorials, the internet is awesome! xD

I taught myself by programming ti-83 calculators all through high school

I thought "Oh boy! Programming is easy!"

Then I met C++ in "advanced programming 201"

I still don't know programming to be honest, and furthermore will be never be certain.

I downloaded 4chan's source when the servers were fucked up and that's how I learned how to program.  Did you know in PHP you can set multiple variables at one time like in perl?
list($HAX, $MY, $ANUS) = array("JEWS", "DID", "9/11");

You don't use Haskell, do you? (a,b) = splitAt or some other list splitting function is a very common technique.

You don't use Haskell, do you? Do you know Haskell is a functional lanaguage and you can't set a single variable?

I can do that easily in Common Lisp, for example using destructuring-bind, multiple-value-bind, or write your own macros for doing it any way you'd like it.

Also available in pretty much every fucking language out there. >>11 was making a joke about PHP users, and you guys turned out to be nearly as thick.

I went to MIT back in the 80s. I even attended the Sussman's class. Actually, I'm the one that introduced /prog/ to SICP.

Various dialects of BASIC, then C. Then Perl. I regret nothing.

Learned it on the streets when I was in a gang and when I was in prison.

Okay, show me how to do it in C, C#, Java.

Two of those aren't even programming languages.

In C:
int a, b, c;
char *msg;
a = 5, b = 82, msg = "hello", c = 0;

Well of course not. You expected an imageboard reject to code you something that actually works? Haha! That's a laugh.

It works. You've clearly never written any useful C.
