Gonna get some SICP

Hello friends,

I've decided I've put it off long enough - I want to get a hard copy of SICP. I don't feel up to reading the HTML version all day, and want to get the actual book.

So, is the second edition really leaps and bounds ahead of the first? It's like $35 on Amazon for a softcover 2nd edition, whereas a hardcover 1st edition is like $9.

Will my cognitive explosion and epiphany be hindered or stunted by reading the first edition or should I just pony up the rest of the cash to get the second?

version one uses this old and deprecated language called scheme-- you don't want that

It should be fine. I think they added several things in second edition (the concurrency section, i think), but you can always read that online
