What should I do?

Simple question /prog/

What can I do after finishing HS this year? I can't afford University? What decent jobs can I find? I'm a quick learner and have fairly good knowledge of Java and Delphi. I can also manage my way through Unix based systems quite well?

So what jobs can I find till I earn enough to enter University?

I was hoping someone could give me some informations about some places in the industry that don't require more than a few months training. I know they exist but I don't know where to start looking.

Destroy lifes how? They're no more harmful than bars selling alcohol and smokes(which can be harmful too). If someone chooses to hurt himself by becoming an addict and using more dangerous drugs, that's his own fault. Drug dealers are mere businessmen, or they would be, if many countries around the world wouldn't have added yet more pointless laws which criminalize victimless crimes, which led to them becoming more full-fledged criminals because they have to defend themselves. Bad laws cause criminals and lost lives.

1. Put together a resume with references I.E Comp Sci Teachers, anyone you have helped with your skills ,really. and if you don't have anyone then do volunteer projects, cheap freelance stuff or join an open source project. Go to some board like stackoverflow to answer questions and get rep.(I had a boss that had a hard on for that kind of stuff) Join a programming guild. Participate!!!

2. Make a Portfolio of code you wrote that actually works is documented, and are not copypasta. Or better yet if you have any website experience list the site(s) you worked on.

3. Post yourself on Dice.com or Monster.com or [Insert job search engine here]

4. Find IT Recruiting Firms AKA "Head Hunters". There are lots of them out there just look up a couple in your area. Give them your resume and portfolio and call them regularly. They may not always have exactly the job you want where you want it but they may have something. Be prepared to travel and work shitty 2-6 month contracts with no hope of permanent employment.

Alternatively: Build an Mobile phone app.
(Blackberry or Android both APIs are java (droid is cheaper and easier to get published)....Profit

It depends on the topic and how its asked.  For instance anything about japan or the daily lives of certain /prog/ celebrities will be answered withing the first couple of posts.  For something programming related its best to first grandstand and insult then to ask the question.
